October 14, 2005 - Pumpkins, Food and Fun in Half Moon Bay


Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival

October 15 - 16. 2005

Celebrate fall with a harvest of pumpkins in Half Moon Bay. You'll find expert pumpkin carvers, crafts, the Great Pumpkin Parade, a Haunted House, and plenty of good home style cooking, featuring an abundance of locally grown foods. If you're feeling competitive, join in the pie-eating, pumpkin carving and costume contests.

There will be live music and family entertainment on three stages. The entertainment includes juggling, comedy, unicycling and magic.

The festivities take place on Main Street between Miramontes and Spruce Streets. Half Moon Bay, California is located 25 miles south of San Francisco on Highway 1. Admission is free.

October 31, 2005 - Mushrooms and Wine Abound in Mendocino


Mendocino Wine and Mushroom Festival

November 10 - 15, 2005

Celebrate mushroom hunting in Mendocino County. Over 20 types of edible wild mushrooms grow in this region, and folks here get mighty serious about these edible fungi. Local mushroom gatherers ship over 30 tons of mushrooms annually to customers all over the world.
