Over 50 classic aircraft will be on display at this annual event. Pilots will be strutting their stuff with military aerial demonstrations and classic warbird flybys.

The event takes place at at the Santa Maria Public Airport, and is put on by the Santa Maria Museum of Flight and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2829 of Pismo Beach. Santa Maria is located on Highway 101 between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.

While in the area, you might also want to visit the Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve or nearby Santa Barbara.

August 30, 2005 - Now's the Time to Visit the Central Coast

Fall Fest 2000 on the Central Coast

September 1 through December 10, 2005

San Luis Obispo County is gearing up for fall with 100 days of festivals, activities, and special events. Good idea!

Fall on the Central Coast is glorious. The days are warm and dry -- no more summer fogs. And the nights are crisp and cool. The pesky crowds have departed, and the kiddies are finally back in school. So you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

There will be plenty to do. Activities include wine tasting and touring, car shows, art shows, special tours of Hearst Castle, bicycling, music, food and golf.

For outstanding scenery, check out Montana de Oro State Park, with its rugged cliffs and pebbly beach. Or try the Pismo Dunes, popular with both nature lovers and off road vehicle enthusiasts.

August 31, 2005 - Say Goodbye to Summer in Ventura, California

There's a lot going on in Ventura on the weekend of September 17-18. It's the perfect chance to say goodbye to summer and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Kinetic Sculpture Race at Ventura

September 17, 2005

If you're in the mood for a bit of goofy fun, check out these home-made contraptions as they race around Ventura Harbor. Racers will launch their vehicles into the harbor at 10:30 am. The race includes a Water Course, Sand Challenge, Road Race, and Mud Challenge. Could get messy!

Aloha Beach Festival 2005

September 17-18, 2005

Head to the west side of the Ventura Pier for the Aloha Beach festivities. Events include Frisbee Freestyle Disc Championships, K9 Frisbee Disc Championships, the Aloha BZR Surfing Challenge, hula dancing and fashion shows. Of course, there'll be food -- a luau dinner, plus food booths. And music -- on both "THE BIG KAHUNA" and "THE MIGHTY WAHINE" stages. Vendor booths will display local art work and island-style handicrafts.
